What is !MakeDict ? __________________________________________________________
!MakeDict is a small utility that provides the user with a
quick and easy way to piece together the number of files that
comprise the dictionary definition file (Dict-D) for that
most excellent application - !WordHound.
Why create such a program ? __________________________________________________
Building such a large file from several sections requires a
fair bit of memory. On a 4Mb machine it is possible to load
all sections into !Edit and then save the resulting file.
However, if you have only a 2Mb machine you need some way to
let the OS piece the files together - hence !MakeDict !
It is also easier just to drop your files onto the icon,
select build and let the machine do the work.
What do I need to do ? _______________________________________________________
Take all the sections (not uuencoded or the like) and drop
them onto the icon (upto 5 files can be dragged).
You will see nothing!
No go and select the build option from the menu and you will
be presented with a SaveAs dialogue box - drag the file where
you want it to be stored and let !MakeDict do the work.

Bugs ! _______________________________________________________________________
This program was written on my A410/1 with 4Mb RAM and an Arm3
using desktop Cv4.00
I think it has been debugged sufficiently, although if you do
find any problems with it please get in contact so that I can
attempt to fix it!
Although primarily written for a 2Mb user it has not (yet) been
tested on such a machine.

Credits Section _____________________________________________________________
Credits go to:
Barry Sheward for writting !Convert and letting me have
access to the source, so that I could understand how to
communicate with the wimp!
Ian Palmer for !WordHound, without which there would have
been no inspiration to write this program
All the excellent programmers out there for your brilliant
programs over the years.
To info-server@newcastle.ac.uk, uts.mcc.ac.uk,
micros.hensa.ac.uk for supporting the Archie.
Finally to Acorn for a most excellent machine - any chance
of some info on the Next Generation (A:TNG ;-))
