- Warping Images
- --------------
-
-
- Image allows the user to warp any quadrilateral area of an image onto any
- other quadrilateral area. This allows you to distort areas of an image or copy
- areas whilst also resizing the copied area, rotating it or distorting it.
-
- When you select the 'Warp Image' icon on the main control panel, you will be
- presented with a warp control window, and the display window will also
- contain two squares drawn over the display image.
-
- The two squares allow you to define the source and destination
- quadrilaterals by allowing you to drag the four corners of to any position
- you like. The quadrilateral whose four corners are marked with solid squares
- define the destination quadrilateral, whereas the one with the outline
- squares are the corners defines the source quadrilateral.
-
- Once you have defined the source and destination areas select the 'Warp' icon
- on the 'Warp Image' control window and the warp will take place.
-
- There are no restrictions on the source and destination areas, you can even
- make the sides of the defining quadrilateral cross, which will produce a
- twisted output.
-
-
- Options
- -------
-
- There are two selectable options available within a warp operation :
-
-
- Preserve - Normally masking information is ignored during a warp,
- selecting this option will cause masked areas NOT to
- overwritten in the warping process. That is any areas
- within the destination quadrilateral which are masked
- out will remain untouched.
-
- Blank - Normally all the areas outside the destination
- quadrilateral will remain untouched during the warp
- process. Selecting this option will make those areas
- outside the destination area be masked out in the output
- image.
