  14. FileIconz was written by Jon Noble, with a Wimp Front end
  15. written by Andrew Ayre.

  17. This is an application that removes the white boxes that you
  18. get when you open a directory containing a file who's 
  19. application has not been seen. It also adds its type. 
  20.  
  21. To get rid of the box, just drag the offending file to the the
  22. !FileIconz window, or onto the icon on the Icon bar. If the
  23. file is known, then the screen will be updated, and the correct
  24. sprite should be seen instead of the white box. The filetype 
  25. should have also been updated. If no sprites for that type 
  26. of file can be found, then the status window will indicate so.
  27. If you are in a high resolution mode, then if there are high 
  28. resolution sprites present, then they will be used. If none are
  29. present, then the low res ones will be used instead.

  31. Please note that this application needs the !Scrap directory
  32. (or to have seen !Boot on Risc Os 3.5). As it uses the 
  33. scrap directory and loads files from disc to save on memory
  34. udage then it is a good idea to put it on your hard disc, 
  35. assuming of course, that you have one! If you don't,
  36. try putting the scrap directory on the !FileIconz disc, to
  37. save you loads of disc swaps!

  39. This application is Public Domain (FreeWare).

  41. Please note that if you are using a large desktop font 
  42. (eg. Newhall Bold) on a RiscPC (or a patched OS 3 Desktop)
  43. then some of the Info window text can overlap.

  45. This application also supports interactive help, so if you
  46. are stuck, try loading that up!

  48. P.S. FileIconz gets updated quite often. Very often in fact. 
  49. If you want to be sure that you have the latest version, write to the
  50. authors, as it doesn't get uploaded or sent to the Datafile as often 
  51. as it is updated...
