  13. gram. Of course experience has shown that this risk seems to be
  14. very low, the probability for a crash causing serious damages
  15. is certainly zero.

  17. If you chose to use this program in spite of all risks, you will
  18. probably get the best FLI player possible for Acorn computers.
  19. Of course MovieFS from Warm Silence Software is a very good pro-
  20. gram, and is also capable to dither FLI files with help of
  21. Replay, but it is quite slower and uses more memory. Besides
  22. it is not for free.

  27. -supports the special graphic capabilities of the RiscPC
  28. -multitasking and singletasking possible
  29. -possiblility to zoom the picture by 2 without big speed loss
  30.  also in 32K and 16M colours
  31. -optimized CD-Rom access to use the read ahead cache, this would
  32.  normally be the task of CDFS, but it seems to me it is not
  33.  able to do this
  34. -support of Dynamic Areas with RiscOS 3.5 or greater

  37. Instructions:
  38.  
  39. FLIs and FLCs are started by doubleclicking on them or dragging
  40. them onto the FastFLI icon. The main options used for every new
  41. started animation can be adjusted and saved in the Iconbar menu
  42. item Choices.

  44. Zoom by 2 means simply zoom by 2. Only first palette chunk plays
  45. only the first palette chunk. This is for animations that always
  46. have a palette chunk, although it is always the same. This can
  47. save calculation time. Don't cache prevents FastFLI from
  48. caching. This can be useful if you want to watch very big files
  49. and don't want to wait a long time. Show frame numer prevents
  50. FastFLI form showing the actual frame number while playing, if
  51. deselected. This can speed up the animation on slower computers,
  52. as RiscOS is not very fast with redrawing icons. Actual it needs
  53. the same time as FastFLI for drawing a 320*200*256 Frame.
  54. Singletask means that FastFLI will start the next animation in
  55. singletask mode.

  57. In the menu of the anmimation window you can change some of
  58. these options during playback only for the actual animation.
  59. You can also swith to singletask mode by doubleclicking in the
  60. animation window.

  62. Mouse buttons in singletask mode are the same as in Acorns
  63. Replay. Using the keys +/- on the numeric pad you can adjust
  64. the delay between two pictures.
