Ŵ Real Instructions for !!DisCat and !!Request€
==============================================
☓Introduction:€
!!DisCat was wrote out of sheer frustration at not being able to find a
decent program to catalogue my discs with. All other programs I have seen
have been either very awkward to use or lack some or other feature I would
have liked.
The design of !!DisCat was to make it as much like the filer in operation
as possible so it's use would be fairly intuitive, as all good RISC-OS
software should be.

☓Cataloguing your discs:
€Having loaded the program, clicking select on !!DisCat's icon will open a
window. The main menu on this window contains the following options:
ŴScan € This leads to an option window which allows you to select which
files are included in your catalogue. By selecting ŴAll€, all files
within a directory or application will be included. SelectŴ None€ and
files within the directory/application will not be included.
By selecting ŴPrompt€ a dialogue window will ask if you wish to
catalogue the files within a directory/application or not.
ŴExpand Archive€ allows cataloguing of the files contained within an
Archive created by !Spark or !ArcFS.
ŴExpand PackedDir€ allows cataloguing of the files contained within a
file created by !PackDir.
ŴCFS FileTypes€ This option selects whether CFS files are included as
☓ CFSlzw€ or the 'real' file type.
ŴFiling Options€ These allow you to select which filing system will
be used, and which disc drive to select. If you have ☓MSDOS filer€
installed you can also catalogue files on MSDOS discs.
ŴCatalog €This option catalogues a disc. During the process a dialogue window
is opened to let you know what's happening. If the ŴPrompt€ option has
been set, you will be asked if you want to include files contained
within directories/applications. ☓Note€ that directories/applications
contained within PackDir files will always be fully catalogued.
ŴSave €This leads to the normal save dialogue window. Drag the file icon or
click on the ☓ok€ button.
ŴSearch €This leads to a dialogue window which allows you to search through
the catalogue file for a specified entry.
Ŵ Select €The last menu entry allows you to delete selected entries. You can
select an entry using select and/or adjust (for multiple selections)
and delete the selected entries using this option.
Clicking ☓menu€ over the filename entry of an unselected entry will
select that entry if no other entries are select before bringing up
€ the main menu.
This option is actually harder to explain than it is in practice,
but it is designed to be as close to the way that the filers work as
I could get.
☓Editing
€When you have catalogued a disc, clicking on an information entry in the
!!DisCat window allows you to edit these entries. Using up/down cursor
allows you to scroll through the entries.
☓Printing
€You can printout your catalogue file by dragging the saved file onto your
printer driver. Full instructions are included in the Ŵ!Help€ file within
the !!DisCat directory.
☓Linking to !!Request
€!!DisCat can export files to !!Request in exactly the same way as
!!ReadCat. Full information on this is included in the !Help file within
the !!ReadCat directory.
☓Further information/updates are contained in the file !Help within the
