| Help for C » Impression "2.00 (08-Apr-1991)"
|
This application will take a text file (or a whole directory) and
convert it into a format suitable for import into Impression II
(v2.05). This is necessary because the current version can not handle
'{' characters, which abound in C / PASCAL source code. It also
performs some other filtering as well:
Carriage returns (\x0d) are removed
Form feeds (\x0c) are converted to '{Nextframe}'
Bolded text (as produced by nroff/troff type programs) is put into a bold font
'`' are converted to sexed apostrophes
''' are coverted to sexed apostrophes
CTRL-Z (\x1a) are removed {these are found on IBM files a lot}
'"' are properly sexed
'-' is converted into a true hyphen character (151)
All of these can be toggled on or off.
If a directory is dragged onto the icon bar icon (or the log window),
then all text files inside the directory are processed. This is
recursive. Because this may take a while, between each file, control
is passed back to the wimp - so you may be able to get on with
something else (like playing daleks).
To summarise, if you don't have Impression, and you never want to
input source code into it, then you can safely delete this program.
Otherwise, you may find it usefull. Have fun.

been put into the public domain with two provisos. One that all
source code be included in all distributions of this application.
Two, that you use at your own risk. If this program happens to
reformat your hard disc, cause your monitor to blow up, or the
keyboard to ignite, that's your problem. If you want guarantees of
stability, you can pay for a program. All I will say, is that I've
used this program, and so it works on at least one machine. If you
find the program has any shortcomings, or you would like any extra
features added, then I can be contacted at:
