- Your attention please... I am pleased to announce the arrival
- of FreeNet at an FTP site near you!
-
- <fx: cheering>
-
- Yes folks, it's here at last... FreeNet has made it to release.
-
- For those who don't know already, FreeNet is a freeware replacement for
- Acorn's TCP/IP stack, which provides a BSD sockets interface for
- programmers, and uses existing DCI-2 hardware drivers, so it should work
- with current ethernet cards, as well as with SLIP using the supplied
- driver.
-
- I have just finished uploading it to the incoming directory on the Demon
- ftp site, so it should be appearing at the following location shortly:
-
- ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/archimedes/developers/freenet/
-
- This directory contains version 0.13 of FreeNet:
-
- ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/archimedes/developers/freenet/freenet013.arc
-
- and version 0.11 of my FreeTerm terminal emulator:
-
- ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/archimedes/developers/freenet/freeterm011.arc
-
- I'm sure there are probably lots bugs in this, and it should definately
- be treated as a beta release. Please do try it though, and report any
- bugs you find to me at freenet@compton.demon.co.uk.
-
