- Lobster Fishing - The Worlds Most Original Educational Simulation
-
- So What Is It?
- This is the SHAREWARE version of the Lobster Fishing simulation.
- Lobster Fishing is a game for people of all ages (although it is
- primarily aimed at 10-12 year olds). It teaches children about risk,
- investment, the principles of stocks and shares, running a business,
- and provides pracitise for simple maths problems in a bright and fun
- way. It is ideal for covering the "simulations" sections in the
- National Curriculm IT syllabus. The program is played by up to four
- people (any of which can be controlled by a child or the computer) and
- best results are achieved when pupils play against each other in
- teams. The game is fully configurable to suit all combinations of
- difficulty, computer power, and time available. It includes high
- quality animated graphics and sound so children find it fun and
- enjoyable to use.
-
-
- Boring legal bit:
- THIS SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED AS IS, AND AS SUCH, NO RESPONSIBILTY IS
- TAKEN BY THE PROGRAMMERS OR DISTRIBUTERS FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS OF
- DATA THAT YOU MAY INCURE AS A RESULT OF USING IT.
-
-
- Registration bit:
- This program is shareware. Shareware means you are allowed to use it
- for a trial period of a couple of weeks. If after that you decide to
- carry on using it you must register the program with me. If you do
- not want to carry on using it then you must destroy your copy, or
- preferrably pass it on to someone else.
-
- You are free to copy and distribute it, as long as all the files are
- included and remain unaltered and intact (including this one). I
- retain the copyright at all times.
-
- I decided to release it as shareware so it could reach as wide an
- audience as possible. It has taken many hours to complete, and no
- doubt it will take many more to include all the suggestions you are
- going to send me. If you decide you do want to use it, then you MUST
- register it with me. I know that there is a huge temptation not to
- register and just carry on using it, but registering brings many
- advantages:
- You get a the full version of the simulation without any
- annoying messages
- You get free technical support
- You get free upgrades to any later versions
- You help fund the development of this and other programs
- You give me some incentive to develop it further
- You have a clear conscience
- I will be more likely to release future programs as shareware
- rather than selling them
- You (may) get some teacher resources for use in the classroom
- if I have finished them in time
-
- To register, send a disk and SAE with some payment (I suggest £10 as a
- minimum as this is in most people price bracket, but you should send
- whatever you can afford / think it is worth) to me at:
-
- Kieran Mansley
- Brookside House
- Airton
- Skipton
- North Yorkshire
- BD23 4AX
-
- If you think the program has potential, but is lacking a key feature
- that is stopping you from registering then let me know - I should be
- able to sort something out. I am always happy to hear of people
- suggestions for the program.
-
- Please also send any bugs or problems you have running the game to me
- at the above address and I shall try to sort them out.
-
- For detailed information on how to use the program please read the
- manual that (should) be included with the program.
-
- I look forward to hearing from you.
