  1. Post_Rate. Version 1.00.

  3. About Post_Rate.  
  4. Post_Rate contains three diagrams plus a title which when printed out
  5. and pasted together will make a poster, about A2 in size, illustrating
  6. the affects of temperature, surface area and concentration on the
  7. rates of reaction. The pictures are coloured and there is also a short
  8. written summary for each picture.
  9.  
  10. About the Draw Files.   
  11. Picutre Files  
  12. In this directory are 4 Draw files. In order to view these files you
  13. must have the Draw icon on the icon bar. The Draw files are called
  14. Concentr, Surface, Temperat1 and Title. The first three files
  15. illustrate the effects of increasing concentration (Concentr), surface
  16. area (Surface) and temperature (Temperat1) on the rate of reaction.
  17. The final file, Title, has been done to allow a large title to be
  18. printed. The pictures are in colour, green and blue for the particles,
  19. black lines showing particle movement and red impact/reaction flashes.
  20. The text is in black. The three picture files have a similar format.
  21. Each picture, including text, will fit onto a piece of paper which is
  22. A4 wide and A3 long. They are intened to be displayed length ways
  23. (portrait).  
  24. Title.  
  25. The title file contains a banner type title which is nearly 64 cm
  26. long, slightly longer than 2 sheets of A4. As this will have to be
  27. trimmed after printing, I have put dotted red lines around it to
  28. indicate the cutting lines. You may wish to delete these from the
  29. drawing before printing. 
  30. LookAtMe
  31. This draw file gives you an outline shape of how the poster will look
  32. after you have pasted everything together. It also contains a few
  33. tips.

  35. The Text.  
  36. All the text, including the title, has been done using a utility
  37. supplied with Computer Concepts document processor 'Impression'. The
  38. utility called 'FontDraw' allows text to be typed in, using an outline
  39. font, and converts it to a Draw file. Consequently if you want to
  40. alter any of the wording of the text you will need to re-type your own
  41. text. Using the method I have chosen, however. means that you do not
  42. need the outline font mamnager.
  43.  
  44. Altering The Pictures.  
  45. These diagrams are copyright free and you may alter them in any way
  46. you want to, however, please see the copyright notice in 'ReadMe1'. I
  47. have saved the files as 'select' saves, consequently you can change
  48. any of the colours, sizes, text or positioning. This includes reducing
  49. the diagrams so they fit onto a sheet of A4 or less.

  51. Printing & Printer Drivers.  
  52. During test runs I have used an Integrex Colourjet 132 printer, and
  53. also a 9 pin dot matrix black and white printer. The pictures have
  54. been arranged so that the positioning is correct for the trial print
  55. outs. You, however, may have to either reset you printer or
  56. re-position the drawings. 
  57.  
  58. Paper Size & Margin Settings. 
  59. Go to the Page size option of the printer driver menu and then for: 
  60. Files called Concentr, Surface and Temperat1 the page height should be
  61. adjusted to 420mm (this is the page hieght of a portrait A3 page) and the
  62. margin settings should be reduced to 0mm.

  65. Printer Drivers.   
  66. I have used the standard Acorn printer drivers, PrinterDM version 1.12
  67. and PrinterIx version 1.12. However, I have reduced the margins on the
  68. page setting option to 0.00 mm before printing. I also altered the
  69. page height to 700 mm.
