- Post_Rate. Version 1.00.
-
- About Post_Rate.
- Post_Rate contains three diagrams plus a title which when printed out
- and pasted together will make a poster, about A2 in size, illustrating
- the affects of temperature, surface area and concentration on the
- rates of reaction. The pictures are coloured and there is also a short
- written summary for each picture.
-
- About the Draw Files.
- Picutre Files
- In this directory are 4 Draw files. In order to view these files you
- must have the Draw icon on the icon bar. The Draw files are called
- Concentr, Surface, Temperat1 and Title. The first three files
- illustrate the effects of increasing concentration (Concentr), surface
- area (Surface) and temperature (Temperat1) on the rate of reaction.
- The final file, Title, has been done to allow a large title to be
- printed. The pictures are in colour, green and blue for the particles,
- black lines showing particle movement and red impact/reaction flashes.
- The text is in black. The three picture files have a similar format.
- Each picture, including text, will fit onto a piece of paper which is
- A4 wide and A3 long. They are intened to be displayed length ways
- (portrait).
- Title.
- The title file contains a banner type title which is nearly 64 cm
- long, slightly longer than 2 sheets of A4. As this will have to be
- trimmed after printing, I have put dotted red lines around it to
- indicate the cutting lines. You may wish to delete these from the
- drawing before printing.
- LookAtMe
- This draw file gives you an outline shape of how the poster will look
- after you have pasted everything together. It also contains a few
- tips.
-
- The Text.
- All the text, including the title, has been done using a utility
- supplied with Computer Concepts document processor 'Impression'. The
- utility called 'FontDraw' allows text to be typed in, using an outline
- font, and converts it to a Draw file. Consequently if you want to
- alter any of the wording of the text you will need to re-type your own
- text. Using the method I have chosen, however. means that you do not
- need the outline font mamnager.
-
- Altering The Pictures.
- These diagrams are copyright free and you may alter them in any way
- you want to, however, please see the copyright notice in 'ReadMe1'. I
- have saved the files as 'select' saves, consequently you can change
- any of the colours, sizes, text or positioning. This includes reducing
- the diagrams so they fit onto a sheet of A4 or less.
-
- Printing & Printer Drivers.
- During test runs I have used an Integrex Colourjet 132 printer, and
- also a 9 pin dot matrix black and white printer. The pictures have
- been arranged so that the positioning is correct for the trial print
- outs. You, however, may have to either reset you printer or
- re-position the drawings.
-
- Paper Size & Margin Settings.
- Go to the Page size option of the printer driver menu and then for:
- Files called Concentr, Surface and Temperat1 the page height should be
- adjusted to 420mm (this is the page hieght of a portrait A3 page) and the
- margin settings should be reduced to 0mm.
-
-
- Printer Drivers.
- I have used the standard Acorn printer drivers, PrinterDM version 1.12
- and PrinterIx version 1.12. However, I have reduced the margins on the
- page setting option to 0.00 mm before printing. I also altered the
- page height to 700 mm.
-
- I hope this is of some use to you. If you have any comments please let
- me know.
