  1. WinEd is a shareware template editor. Please see the documentation for
  2. conditions of use.

  4. Important: If you are upgrading from version 2.20 or earlier, delete the
  5. WinEdReg application. Registration is now handled from WinEd's banner.
  6.  
  7. Documentation is provided in two forms: a plain text !Help file within the
  8. !WinEd directory, and a file ("Manual") suitable for Impression Style or
  9. Publisher. The latter contains the same text as the help file, but nicely
  10. formatted; it is set up to print two A5 pages per A4 page.

  12. I can print manuals (on a Bubble Jet printer) for registered users, but
  13. please do not ask for one unless you really can not print it yourself. Having
  14. to print manuals is likely to delay processing of registration, and my
  15. printer plays up a lot (I think BJ stands for Blocked Jet, not Bubble Jet).

  17. Note about keyboard short cuts:
  18. The short cut for Delete is ^K. ^X, Delete and <-| (Backspace) are no longer
  19. supported; they are reserved for applications that use Cut & Paste. The short
  20. cut for Work area... (open Edit work area dialogue) was originally ^K, so
  21. has had to be changed to ^O.
  22. I haven't bothered to document keyboard short cuts, no one would learn them
  23. all by heart from reading, you just gradually pick them up from the menus.

  25. Note about BorderUtils & NewLook:
  26. BorderUtils is a module to fix a bug in RISC OS 3.1. WinEd, like any
  27. application with 3D slabbing icons, needs it. It comes with NewLook and as a
  28. stand-alone from good PD libraries. WinEd was also designed with sprites from
  29. NewLook in mind, some of the old ones look awful now.

  31. Most PD and Shareware has a 'history' section, so I started one in the
  32. end, but not until version 2.20:
