- Screen saver
- ============
-
- Phosphors need coffee breaks too, you know. Let your monitor chill
- with !ScreenSav.
- When nothing's happened on the desktop for a while, !ScreenSav
- will give your monitor a change of scenery... and if you don't like
- plain black scenery, you can choose what scenery to change it to by
- dropping an IotaFilm file (type C2A) on the icon bar icon.
-
- Other features
- --------------
-
- Choose Delay->Now! from the menu to see the film in action without
- having to wait around.
- If you want your film to waft around the screen interestingly,
- have a look at the Features submenu where there are three varieties of
- wafting. (Delta films can only be played centred, that is, waftless.)
- If you want your ears as well as your screen saved, turn off
- Features->Sound.
- If you want the film played flat out, turn on Features->Fast
- (Otherwise the frame rate specified in the film is used).
- Choose Clear from the menu to make !ScreenSav use a blank screen,
- which is not only fashionably Spartan, but also means !ScreenSav uses
- as little memory as possible - films can be rather large.
- Choose Save as Default to save
- - the currently chosen film
- - the currently chosen delay
- - the current Centred, Flying, Bouncing or Wandering setting
- - whether Sound is enabled
- - whether Fast is enabled
- as the defaults for when !ScreenSav is next loaded.
- !ScreenSav is in BASIC, so you can load it into an editor and
- check out for yourself how to use IotaFilm files in your own programs.
