  5. The "IBM.Pro-X24E" printer definition file uses
  6. features which mean it will not work on some of
  7. the early IBM printers. It uses ESC "[g" graphics
  8. commands to perform 24 pin dumps, ESC "d" to
  9. perform leading zero suppression and ESC "[\" to
  10. switch the vertical units to 1/180 inch instead of
  11. 1/216 inch. The use of these codes for the
  12. graphics resolutions means that this printer
  13. definition file will not work with the IBM
  14. Graphics Printer, Proprinter, Proprinter II and
  15. Proprinter XL. ISO Latin 1 text printing uses ESC
  16. "[T" to switch to code page 850 (Multilingual)
  17. which allows accurate text printing of almost all
  18. ISO Latin 1 characters.

  20. If you have a very new IBM compatible printer
  21. which can do 48 pin graphics using ESC "[g", you
  22. may be able to use the "Canon.BubbleJet" printer
  23. definition file. This is the same as the
  24. "IBM.Pro-X24E" file except that it provides 360
  25. DPI vertical resolution graphics modes (non
  26. interlaced) and the 360 DPI horizontal definitions
  27. are non interlaced.

  29. The "IBM.4019/17" and "IBM.4019/39" printer
  30. definition files are for the IBM LaserPrinter
  31. (PostScript), containing 17 fonts and 39 fonts
  32. respectively.

  34. The "IBM.4216" printer definition file is for the
  35. IBM Personal Pageprinter (PostScript).
