  6. This is a very basic shell for making a program that
  7. runs in !65host into an application
  8.  
  9. what it does, is when it is run it loads your copy
  10. of !65host, and executes a file called !boot in the
  11. MAIN directory, inside the !BBCapp directory, this
  12. file then chains, or *runs etc, the program, in this
  13. case the file PROGANAME is chained.
  14.  
  15. To use this Application with one of your own
  16. programs-
  17.  
  18. 1) Drag the applicaton !BBCapp to another disc.
  19.  
  20. 2) rename the application to what you want.
  21.  
  22. 3) rename the name of the sprite in the !Sprites
  23. file to the new name of the application, and edit
  24. the sprite if you wish.
  25.  
  26. 4) open the directory MAIN.
  27.  
  28. 5) delete the file PROGNAME.
  29.  
  30. 6) drag into the MAIN directory the files for your
  31. BBC program (be careful not to overwrite the !boot
  32. file, if your program has it's own boot file rename
  33. it to something like !boot2)
  34.  
  35. 7) Open up the !boot data file, by shift-double-
  36. clicking it, or dragging it to the !Edit icon on the
  37. icon bar.
  38.  
  39. 8) Find the words CHAIN"PROGNAME", and change them
  40. to *RUN, or CHAIN, etc and then type in the name
  41. of the file from your program, that is run first,
  42. remembering to make sure to use the quotes if the
  43. file is to be CHAINed, then resave the file as !BOOT.

  45. 8) Now the application is ready to run.

  47. 9) Don't forget to make sure that the computer has
  48. seen a copy of !65host.

  50. This application is supplied free to everyone 'as is
  51. ', I do not give any guarantee that it is free of
  52. bugs, or supply any warranty about its suitabliliy
  53. for use. I hope that this has been of use to you.

  55. PS have you bought the Warm Silence Software, BBC
  56. emulator yet. It is a bit slow on my A4000, but for
  57. 10 quid I don't think that you can go wrong. It is
  58. like !65host, except it can run BBC games, yes all
  59. the favourites, like ransack, despatch rider,
  60. clogger, and (so I have been told) ALL the play it
  61. again sams.
