  1. Help on WinEdReg (WinEd registration)

  3. This is a simple program to allow you to personalise your copy of WinEd when
  4. you have registered it by inserting a 'User' file in the !WinEd application
  5. directory. When WinEd detects a correct User file it no longer displays the
  6. banner at start-up and it inserts your name in the Info dialogue box.

  8. The User file contains a code, dependent on the user name, which is only
  9. available by registering WinEd. Please see WinEd's documentation for details
  10. of registration.

  12. Later upgrades of WinEd will be able to run with the same User file, you can
  13. either ensure you preserve the User file from your previous copy or run
  14. WinEdReg again if you remember your code number.

  16. WinEd must be distributed *without* the user file, but with all other files
  17. intact.

  20. WinEdReg is simple to use. When run it opens a window; the top writable icon
  21. contains the full path name (excluding trailing '.') of the copy of WinEd you
  22. want to register eg

  26. WinEdReg automatically fills in this field if !WinEd has been 'seen' by the
  27. filer. If you wish to change the contents you can type a path name in the
  28. field or drag the relevant copy of WinEd to the window.

  30. The next writable field is where you type your user name. This should be
  31. typed exactly as detailed with your registration letter to ensure it works
  32. with the registration code.

  34. The bottom writable field is where you type your registration code.

  36. When all the fields are complete, click 'Register' or press Return to create
  37. the User file.
