  5. A very simple application for guessing file types. Yes, I know it has been
  6. done a million times before but no-one can accuse me of overkill here! It
  7. does nothing more than recognise a few file headers.
  8.  
  9. You just drag as many files as you want to the window and it will set the
  10. types of all of them automatically. Files that it doesn't recognise will be
  11. typed as text.

  13. It can't recognise very many, but it will know virtually all the file types
  14. you are likely to download:
  15.  
  16. Archives               (two variants)
  17. PKZip archives         (.ZIP)
  18. LHA archives           (.LZH)
  19. Draw files
  20. Digital symphony
  21. SoundTracker           (STModule)
  22. JPEG
  23. GIF
  24. TIFF

  26. There is absolutely no guarantee as to which files it will and won't
  27. recognise; I just looked at a few examples of each format and picked out what
  28. I thought was the standard 'header'.
