SimonVGA is a utility which will ensure that when you load Simon the Sorceror, you don't have to fuss about changing it to VGA mode, or not as the case may be. The manual says it should do this automatically, but don't believe it; mine doesn't, anyway. So, what you do, is you run this utility. It will alter your copy of STS according to your monitor type / preference, creating a backup copy of the appropriate file, just in case. The process, by the way, is quite safe; at worst it will tell you that it can't read your version of Simon the Sorceror. It also gives you a nice hi-res icon for !Simon.
Anyway, having seen your copy of STS (the installed version, that is, or which ever copy you use), run SimonVGA. It will ask you if you want to do this, say yes. It will then ask you to say which type of monitor you have, and probably tell you which it thinks you have. This is the option that will affect the mode in which STS runs in. Choose according to taste and monitor capabilities. SimonVGA will then alter your copy.
To restore your copy to original condition, hold down Alt whilst running SimonVGA, and it will do the necessary.
