!MousePlay
by R. Pfeifer
====================================================
Version 3.00
(Previous names: !Replay [Not to be confused with
the Acorn one; that's why I changed it] , !Replay2
and !Replay2A).
This is the replay program to go with !MouseRec. It
will play back a sequence recorded by that program,
by double-clicking on the recording application.
To kill !MousePlay, hold down both shifts and both
controls at once.
It will play the entire sequence accompanied by a
piece of randomly-selected music from those
available to it, then fly back the pointer to the
start and begin again. Before the flyback, the music
will fade out gradually (if there is any. If no
music files are available, it will play in silence).
Please note that during this time it will not
respond to the quit keys.
Concerning music, inside !MousePlay is a directory
called Music. On distribution it should contain a
STModule file called 1 (in players it has the
music name Atmospheric). Users can add their own
music files if they are of STModule type (&CB6)
STracker type (&001) or DesktopTracker (to all
appearances these will probably look like STModule
files but won't run under most player applications.
If you don't know the difference, it doesn't matter
as this program does). For a music file to be found
by the program, it should be added on in numerical
order after the other(s), with no gaps, e.g. add
first 2, then 3, then 4, and if you delete 1, rename
4 as 1 so the numbers now go 1,2,3. Any gap in
numerical order, and the program will not find any
tunes higher-numbered than the missing one.
A general tip on presentation is this: To avoid
embarassing presentation mistakes during flyback,
such as windows appearing or disappearing
spontaneously, ensure that at the end of your
recording, the desktop is in exactly the same state
as you started with it in (with the exception of
mouse pointer position, which doesn't matter).
Please note that strange effects may be
noted while the program is running if other tasks
attempt to update the screen, but these are gone
over next time !MousePlay loads a new screen. If a
program causes constant intrusion due to never
ceasing to update the screen (e.g. !Alarm's icon bar
clock), quit it before running your recording. This
is not frequently a problem.
N.B. If playing back from a mode of resolution other
than that in which the sequence was recorded, the
mouse pointer may appear stretched or squashed in 1
or 2 directions. This does not affect the position
of its tip or the accuracy of the replay.
