  5. Is it my imagination or has nothing been written for RiscBBS since 1992?
  6. Well, here's a 1995 effort!

  8. BTW, if you're using the buggy RiscBBS (ie; the one that has bugs), I suggest
  9. you get the available bug-fixes. I got mine from the Plasma Sphere, and boy
  10. are they good! They change RiscBBS from being a curio to something actually
  11. useful & practical. That rotten mail-addressing bug is gone ...
  12.    Oddly, I have had far less trouble with RiscBBS than seems to be the norm.
  13. It only ever crashes when I forget to point it at the right files or
  14. something similar. Perhaps my trouble-free life is due to me still using RO2?
  15.    I also seem to be the only person to think RiscBBS is powerful. Well, I
  16. think it is, but then again I've never seen ArcBBS or anything else for that
  17. matter. If you want to form your own opinions, log on to my bulletin board -

  22. Anyway, this is a quickly-modified door for RiscBBS which will list the last
  23. five users to logon. This can be placed in the Postlogon sequence, or where I
  24. have it: from the main menu.
  25.    I got the idea from the ArcBBS's (that's the commercial one - I think)
  26. 'online users' option, which lists which users are currently online.
  27. Obviously RiscBBS can't do that, having only one user online at once, so I
  28. modified it to list the last five users instead.
  29.    Future options which _will_ be implemented when I get 'round to it are:
  30. allowing a user to mail a user listed in the list without having to remember
  31. the name while they traverse the menus to the approp. option. Also an idea is
  32. allowing users to move up and down the log list (depending on their user
  33. level of course!).

  35. Coming soon: more doors! I want to do a few more things, and new doors seem
  36. to be a good idea. The two places that will get them are Tornado BBS and the
  37. DDBank. On Internet: hensa & stuttgart. Wait an' see ...

  39. Since it is really by Keith Hall, I'll include his help file here. I'm sure
  40. he probably won't mind my little alterations, but when I get onto the BBS
  41. echos I'll mail him and ask for his explicit permisssion. I hope he doesn't
  42. refuse ...

  88. File 'CookieFile' in !Cookie directory contains the cookies for this door.

  90. The cookies are separated by the preceding each cookie with the # character.

  92. To use this program in RiscBBS, simply place the following line in
  93. '!RiscBBS.System.EventTexts.Logoff' or wherever you want:

  97. This will run !Cookie in the Subtasks directory and display a random cookie.

  99. If you want to add some more cookies, simply add them to the end of the file,

  110. -colour <fg>     (tells !Cookie to display the cookie in <fg> colour)
