  3. This is a fileserver software for the Archimedes.
  4.  
  5. If you have no an Econet network then don't read the rest of the 
  6. text because you can't use the software.
  7.  
  8. To run Fileserver you'll need to edit !Run file.
  9.  
  10. The Fileserver module allows to assign any directory of host computer
  11. to be used as FileStore disc. Suppose you created directory "User"
  12. on your hard drive and then placed the following line into !Run file:

  14.    attachdisc User adfs::4.$.User
  15.  
  16. After running the fileserver any econet user could logon (for example):
  17.    *i am :user Helen
  18.  
  19. The user root directory will be net#user:$.Helen (that corresponds
  20. adfs::4.$.User.Helen on your hard disc. It is impossible for econet user
  21. to read/write (or even see a name) of any file outside adfs::4.$.User
  22. directory.

  24. This approach protects your own files from accidental erasure or
  25. modification through Econet.

  27. Of course, you could attach several discs to the Fileserver in
  28. similar manner.
