DPP 1.0
Data Password Protection
Freeware from Pelican Software Inc.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note that 1.0 is Series 3a only
DPP 1.0 is a utility that will give you password protection for your Data
files. It's not perfect, but it's about the best a third party can do.
How does it work?
To use DPP start out by removing your Data app from the sytem screen by high-
lighting it and pressing psion</>.
Copy Data.opa to any \app directory on your S3a.
Next load the Data.opa (DPP) file from Pelican Software Inc. by pressing
Psion<I> at the system screen. Find the Data.opa file and press Enter. Do
not load the Data.app by pressing Psion<J>. This bypasses DPP 1.0.
Your Data files will show up on the system screen under the new Data
application icon. Don't be fooled, it looks the same as the built in Data app.
In fact we want it to so that it will look authentic.
The first time you run the program you will be asked for a password. Put in
your password, and verify by putting it in again below. From here after your
Data app will be password protected. Casual users of the machine will never
figure out how this is done, and this will protect your data. Of course it's
not 100% safe since a soft reset will bring up the built in Data icon.
Remember to re-assign the Data icon to the new Data.opa application by pressing
Psion<A> with the Data.opa app highlighted.

Please report any bugs to me Email.
If you can't remember your password you can delete the file called:
\app\xagn\xagn.cfg
That's it.
