A Silly Lottery Program
You should be in possession of three files:-
Readme This one
Lottery.opa The Psion 3a program
Lotto3.opo The Psion 3 program
If you have a Series 3a or PB II then copy the 'Lottery.opa' file across
into your internal /APP/ directory. Once you have achieved this, load the
application in the normal way.
If you have a Series 3 or PB then copy across the 'Lotto3.opo' file into
your internal /OPO/ directory. Run it as an OPO program.
Please make sure the file extensions are correct.
This is not a serious program. You will be asked several question and then
five lines of six random numbers will be generated. Use them if you like.
The questions:-
1) The date of the next draw. Your machine will offer a date but you can
enter any date you like. Press <ENTER> to accept the date.
2) Lucky number. If you have one then enter it here or just press <ENTER>.
A lucky number will be generated for you.
3) Time of draw. You can enter the time of the draw in hours and minutes if
you want. The seconds element is taken from the internal clock. Just press
<ENTER> if you don't want to bother. The current time will be used.
4) Repeat numbers. Obviously each line of six numbers cannot have a
repeating number. However one number may appear in more than one line. If
you want all the numbers to be different across the five lines then select
'No' here otherwise accept 'Yes'.
5) FAST or SLOW. All the above information helps to generate a random
number. It can take quite a long time to come up with the numbers.
If you do not want to wait too long, select FAST (it will still take
quite a while).
6) How many lines? Once it has generated all five lines, it will then
randomly select the lines for you. You can ask for five or as little as one.
If you don't like the selection, pick one of your own. This routine is not
used if you have asked for all five lines.
The information on the display more or less speaks for itself.
Your Factor - is the one you entered or the computer generated for you.
Random Factor - Changes for each line.
Fast/Slow - Your selected speed.
Lines - * The number of lines you asked for.
Repeats Yes/No - As selected
If a number has already been chosen (in one line for repeats=Yes or all
lines if repeats=No) it will be flashed up on the display with the repeated
number. Another number will be found.
The selected Line(s) are highlighted in inverse print.
Good luck.
