mated. The animation speed can
be defined in preferences.
Icon animation is based on multi
phase icon sequences.
Bitmap animation is based on
scrolling in a large bitmap.

Hotspots represent buttons.
If unframed, hotspots are in-
visible. They are best over-
layed with texts or bitmaps.

Home card
Each stack has one home card.
You cannot delete the home card.
PSION-H will get you always back
to the home card. The default
#keyword of the home card is 'home'.
Use the home card always as a
starting point for your stacks!

Editor
The editor allows you to create
and modify objects and to modify
card keywords.
You can edit the background by
calling the editor with PSION-B.
ESC returns you back to
retrieval mode.

Default icon
Default icons belong to
application objects. For system
applications the following icons
exist:
system, data, word, calc,
world,agenda,program,runopl.
They reside in \STA\PIC\ and
must not be deleted.

Link mode
In link mode you can navigate
to the desired card. You may
even create a new card or a
new stack. Indeed, you can do
almost everything in link mode -
except editing. PSION-E takes
you back to the root card.

Several means are available:
- card links (as buttons)
- searching via PSION-F,-G,-R
- Hypertext
- return to former card/stack
via PSION-V/PSION-W.
- open stack via PSION-O.

HotTabs
HotTabs ( ) are most useful on
backgrounds to provide a forms-
like input. When a HotTab is
activated it will switch to the
editor to edit the attached ob-
ject or to create a new object
of the specified type.

Day patterns apply to daily,
monthly, yearly alarms. Do-days
apply an alarm, Pass-days pass
"the alarm to the next day, or - in"

The alarm is set, cancelled or
modified by activating the clock

Printing is activated with

You may print the current card,
the whole stack, or cards
matching the find criterion.

Up to 4 animated bitmaps can
be shown. Animation is manual,
on cursor, on activation, or
continous. Manual scrolling can
be enforced by activating the
bitmap and using cursor keys.

An example stack that can be
used as address book. Provides
forms-like input and multi media
facilities (even photos).
To go there, activate button,
to return, press PSION-W.

Pictorial icons are defined by
PSION-J. These icons may be

Bitmap object
Bitmaps of up to 640*400 pixels
can be imported via PSION-B.

activation of the bitmap using
the cursor keys. Manual scroll-
ing stops automatic scrolling.

Find function
You can search for a search
string within card texts or for
a keyword by pressing PSION-F.
To continue searching press
PSION-G, to search backwards
press PSION-R.

Activation
To activate an object, move
the highlight to the object
and press Enter or PSION-J.
What happens then depends
on the object type. A card link,
e.g. will move you to the linked
card, a phone number will dial.
,printer setup,
Printer setup
is similar to the Series 3
system printer setup. Start
with PSION-Y and specify the
printer port (serial, parallel),
and the parameters for the
serial interface if applicable.
,polyline,
Polyline object
Polyline drawing is started
with PSION-Y in the editor.
Cursor keys draw. Press Enter
for new segment, SHift-Enter to
close polyline. Press ESC to
finish drawing.
,explainer,
Explainers
are created via PSION-X in the
editor. They display the speci-
fied text when activated in the
bottom line of the screen.
You can us any type of button
for explainers.

Card link object
Links are created via PSION-A
in the editor. Then link mode
starts. Now navigate to the card
wanted, press PSION-E. Then de-
fine the button shape.
PSION-S is a shortcut to create
"a link to the home card of a stack
