CRAG Helpfile for v1.01 (03-Sep-1994)
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Crag is a desktop dice game for one to four players, based on throwing the
dice (i.e. clicking on the icons) to form certain combinations - a bit like
Yahtzee, but you only get three dice and two throws.
Upon loading Crag you will see the lovingly hand-crafted Crag icon and three
little white squares - the dice. To start a game click on the aforementioned
Crag icon, select your Desired Number of Players and Lo! The Score window
will appear. Type the players' initials in the writeable icons at the top and
Get Throwin'! The dice are controlled with:
Select: throws all the dice except the 'held' ones - *not* just the
one you click on.
Adjust: toggles the die between 'hold' (will not be thrown, shown by
an exceedingly tasty cream colour) and, err, 'not hold'.
When you have reached your desired combination, click on the appropriate box
in the score window. The combinations are:
|Name |Score |Description
|---------------|-----------------------|-------------------------
|Ones |1 point per One |
|Twos |2 points per two |
|Threes |3 points per three |
|Fours |4 points per four |
|Fives |5 points per five |
|Sixes |6 points per six |
|Odd Straight |20 |1-3-5 (in any order)
|Even Straight |20 |2-4-6 (in any order)
|Low Straight |20 |1-2-3 (in any order)
|High Straight |20 |4-5-6 (in any order)
|3 of a kind |25 |What do you think?
|Thirteen |26 |Dice add up to 13
|Crag |50 |Dice add up to 13 and include a
| | |pair - e.g. 6-6-1 or 4-5-4
If the score window should, by some catastrophic accident, be closed, it can
be reopened by clicking Adjust on the lavishly hand-tooled Crag icon.
Minor bug (will be fixed soon): no indication is given of a die being thrown
other than its number changing, so if you happen to throw the same number as
last time it looks as though no throw took place.
If you have any comments, ideas, bug reports, money, suggestions,
improvements, money, gherkins, or anything at all (especially money), send
them to: P. Lurcock, 9 Monmouth Road, Oxford OX1 4TD (England)
