  5.             PC-FASTYPE - Quick HELP Facility -- Advanced Menu
  6.  
  7.      Using selections made from this menu require you know how to type
  8. more than just the basic alphabet.  The exercises selected will include
  9. CAPITAL letters, numbers, and special characters & symbols; - this is some
  10. really hard stuff.

  12.      The EASY Sentences selection will contain mostly CAPITAL and lower-
  13. case letters.  You don't have to worry to much about numbers until you get
  14. to HARD Sentences and Short Paragraphs.
  15.  
  16.      The exercise format is identical to the exercises selected from the
  17. Intermediate Exercises Menu;  that is, you must type the character pointed
  18. to by the house-shaped cursor.  Keyboard helpers are still available to
  19. you for assistance.  Note the double spacing between sentences too.

  26.      When you select any of the exercises in either the Intermediate or
  27. Advanced Exercises Menus, the length of the text you have to type will
  28. vary considerably.  Text longer than what the text panel will hold will
  29. scroll upward as you type succeeding lines.  Some text exercises are only
  30. one sentence long.  The count in characters of these exercises range
  31. anywhere from 60 to 350 characters depending on what PC-FASTYPE randomly
  32. chooses from its own text files.

  34.      You should be able to successfully type all of the characters
  35. displayed in the text panel.  Keystroke errors will be flashed on the
  36. displayed keycap (with a large "X") and the cursor will advance to the
  37. next character leaving an asterisk under the one where the keystroke error
  38. was made.  You can backspace to the error and fix it if you want.

  48. The ADVANCED DRILLS selections are described as follows:

  50. ** Begin Typing ---------------- F10 **
  51.       Displays the Screen Keyboard for you to begin typing your selected
  52.       drill or exercise.

  54. ** HELP Facility ---------------- F1 **
  55.       Call up the Quick HELP Facility of PC-FASTYPE.
  56.  
  57. ** EASY Sentences --------------- F2 **
  58.       These exercises consist of complex words and phrases.  Capital and
  59.       upper case letters are used. There may be a few numbers and
  60.       punctuation characters for you to type.
  61.  
  62. ** HARD Sentences --------------- F3 **
  63.       These exercises contain a heavy mixture of CAPITAL and lower-case
  64.       letters, numbers and symbols. Use options from the Keyboard Helpers
  65.       Menu if you need guidance while typing.

  70. ** SHORT Paragraphs ------------- F4 **
  71.       These exercises consist of small paragraphs made up of several
  72.       sentences or one long sentence.  Included are capital letters,
  73.       numbers, symbols and punctuation. If you're already a speedy typist,
  74.       these exercises will tend to slow you down.

  76. ** Type Your Own Text ----------- F5 **
  77.       Making this selection will pop-up a dialog box asking you for a file
  78.       name containing your own text you can use to practice typing.
  79.       PC-FASTYPE will read the file and display the lines in the text
  80.       panel for you to type. See the section in the User Guide entitled
  81.       Constructing Your Own Text Files.

  83. ** Return to Previous Menu ------ <- **
  84.       This selection re-displays the previous menu which is the
  85.       INTERMEDIATE DRILLS Menu.  Use the arrow key for convenience.

  88.       This selection will display the next menu which is the Keyboard
  89.       Helpers Menu.  Use the arrow key for convenience.
