  20. The Perl CDROM is based on CPAN, the Comprehensive Perl Archive
  21. Network.  Larry Wall's Perl combines the best features of C, sed,
  22. awk, and sh.  People familiar with those languages should love
  23. Perl.  Perl is an interpreted language optimized for scanning text
  24. files, extracting information, and printing reports.  It's also an
  25. excellent language for many system management tasks.

  27. CPAN, aims to be The Perl archive.  It's the only Perl archive you
  28. will ever need.  The material is as up-to-date as possible, and
  29. organized to make finding files easy. You'll get the sources to the
  30. latest versions of Perl5 (5.001m, 5.002, and 5.003).  You'll also
  31. get binary or source versions for Solaris, SunOS, Linux, FreeBSD,
  32. Windows NT/95/3.1, Mac, OS/2, DOS, Amiga, and Atari.  Perl compiles
  33. on over 40 platforms.

  36. utilities, mail-handling, Internet protocols, and file-handling 
  37. libraries.  This CDROM contains a very robust collection of tools

  50. either Rockridge Extensions (UNIX) or VFAT long filenames (Win95/NT).
