  14. Have you ever been on the Internet, used a BBS or Compuserve?
  15. If so, you've probably encountered ZIP files.  If you are a
  16. Windows user, NetZIP is the professional and safe way to
  17. extract, compress, and manipulate these files.
  18.  
  19. NetZIP brings the simplicity of Windows to the use of ZIP files
  20. without requiring you to go into DOS.  It features an intuitive
  21. point-and-click, drag-and-drop interface for viewing, running,
  22. extracting, adding, deleting, and testing files in a ZIP file.
  23.  
  24. NetZIP has an exclusive feature to allow you to view inside and
  25. extract individual files from ZIP files stored on a server
  26. without downloading the complete ZIP file.  This feature will
  27. prevent lengthy downloads of ZIP files that later prove 
  28. unacceptable and are thrown away.  The result is savings for the
  29. server in time and users, and savings for the user in time to
  30. download which ties up the PC.

  32. NetZIP is extremely easy to use!  To open a ZIP file simply
  33. double click on a ZIP file listed in the File Manager, drag
  34. and drop an archive onto the open NetZIP window or minimized
  35. icon, or use the standard File Open menu item.  The main NetZIP
  36. window features a list box with the names, sizes, and date/time
  37. stamps of all files in the open archive.  This list can be
  38. scrolled and sorted on any field.  A tool bar provides fast
  39. access to commonly used actions.  All options can be saved and
  40. restored.  Extensive context sensitive help is always available.
  41.  
  42. Double clicking on a file in the main window has the same effect
  43. as double clicking in the File Manager.  First the file is
  44. extracted from the ZIP file temporarily.  If the file is
  45. executable, it is run.  Otherwise, the file is opened by the
  46. appropriate application (for example, Windows Write for *.WRI
  47. files) based on standard Windows associations.  For registered
  48. users, NetZIP comes with a built in viewer that allows you to
  49. view the most popular types of word processing, spread sheet,
  50. database, and graphics files without needing the associated
  51. application (see below for a complete list).

  53. The Windows 3.1 Drag and Drop Interface is supported.  You can
  54. drop archives on NetZIP to open them, or drop files on NetZIP to
  55. add them to the open archive.  the Windows 95 version supports
  56. all 32 bit functions and long filenames.

  58. NetZIP's ZIPPLUS feature allows a user to create a self-extract-
  59. ing ZIP file that can be extracted to both Windows and DOS.  A
  60. person who gets a ZIPPLUS file can now extract that file without
  61. needing an UNZIP utility and can do it without going to DOS.  To
  62. create a ZIPPLUS file, open a ZIP file, go to the Utilities menu
  63. and select Convert to ZIPPLUS.

  65. NetZIP's Checkout feature makes it easy to quickly install files
  66. in archives.  Click on the Checkout button to extract all files
  67. to the directory you chose.  NetZIP will optionally delete the
  68. Checkout files after the ZIP file is closed.

  70. NetZIP requires Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, or Windows
  71. for Workgroups.  NO OTHER PROGRAMS ARE REQUIRED FOR BASIC
  72. OPERATIONS INVOLVING ZIP FILES.

  74. This version of NetZIP is distributed as Shareware.  This means
  75. that users are encouraged, subject to restrictions described in
  76. the License Agreement (LICENSE.TXT), to share copies of this
  77. program with friends, associates, shareware sites, and bulletin
  78. boards.  Please remember that if you use this software you are
  79. required to pay the registration fee of $15.00 for the standard
  80. edition, and $39.95 for the professional edition.
