Fred Douglas is an artist whose practice includes drawing, photography and text, was born in 1935 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He studied at the Vancouver School of Art.
Scope and content
The work, entitled "Night Light" by Fred Douglas, 1997, consists of a wooden box with photographic glass transparencies (one depicts the artist's work "Van," from the October Show 1985, the other depicts Donald Lawrence's "Sled" from the exhibition Topographies 1996); the work must be plugged in to be viewed; and two booklets "Heaven (Van Version) I" "Heaven (Sled Version) II," part of a novel that Douglas is presently at work on.
