Scope and content
The work consists of a sculpture in mixed media, 37 x 12.5 x 26 cm, by an unknown male artist, and is composed of one black painted box made from plywood, one tin heart with red tissue paper, and one notebook with cloth slip covers containing letters, drawings, original oil paintings, laser prints and photoprints.

The artist supplied the following text with the work: "Bury my Heart: Instructions. The copper wire is turned around the handle to keep the lid closed. The hinged lid is the top of the box, as it is opened. The box contains various sketches, photos of paintings, and notes submitted to illustrate the lifestyle, thoughts and variety of approaches to creativity that one might experience. The book slides out of the slot provided, however the black cloth slip cover makes it easier to slide and protect the book's cover from wear."
