Judith M. Atkinson is an artist born in Toronto, Ontario, in 1949. She studied in 1979 at Emily Carr College of Art and Design, Vancouver, in 1981 at the Banff Centre, School of Fine Arts, and from 1993-1995 at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby.
Scope and content
The collection consists of several works by Judith M. Atkinson, including "Palm Sized Codes for Life," 1997, plaster, acrylic and paper, 14 x 19 cm, two works on paper in mixed media 1994 and 1997, 25 x 35 cm, a book of poetry [poems by Rainer Maria Rilke] made by Atkinson with oil painting on transparent paper 1992, 22 x 28 cm, four colour laserprints of works by Atkinson Wounded Stand" 1981, "Palm Size Codes For Life Icon" 1987, "Pressed Memories #1" 1992, "Palm Size Codes for Life" #2, plaster, acrylic and paper 1997, a plastic sleeve with twenty slides plastic sleeve of Atkinson's work spanning 1981-1994, and a catalogue "Sacred Ground, Skin and Bones" by Diane Radmore, Vancouver: Contemporary Art Gallery,1987.
