Jason Mark McLean was born in London, Ontario, in 1971. He studied at the H.B. Beal School of Art, London, Ontario, from 1989-1990, at the Langara College Fine Arts Program, Vancouver, from 1992-1993, and at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, where he received a Fine Arts Diploma in 1997 after studies in studio art and art history.
Scope and content
The work consists of an assemblage in two parts, entitled "Confetti Man with Foamy," by Jason Mark McLean, in multiple media, including a figure composed of a plastic packaged confetti bag, rubber glove, powder puff, and a plastic bag with Pulpaindo hot and salty, and a cloth covered cushion, both hand stitched; the work was originally made in 1995-1997 and adapted from "Confetti Man with Hammock" to "Confetti Man with Foamy" for the exhibition "Browser."
