Rosanne Bennett is an artist born in 1970 in Kelowna, British Columbia. She studied from 1988-1989 at the Okanagan University College, Fine Arts Department, Kelowna, from 1989-1992 at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, where she received a Studio Arts Diploma 1992 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1994, after studies from 1992-1993 at Concordia University, Montreal.

The artist observed: "In my box the small paintings that you will find split to represent two abstract paths. One path displays the contrast of black and white paintings that come across as hasty sketches, whereas the other path presents a finished yet loose approach with colour. The wood surface offers a characteristic similar to plates. There are nine plates in this box, for no particular numerical or mythical significance. Feel free to sift through them... They may conjure familiar images or they may remain abstract."
