Note
The artist stated "For submission to 'Artropolis '97' I have chosen my most recent sketch book as a container of a series of images. Sketching is the location of a gentle privacy; a place to facilitate breathing in the space between personal urges, responses, and the need to be concrete, certain. It is also a place to allow a flow of thoughts and connections, to shrug off interpretation and judgment, and to simply see what images feel true. It is a place to HOLD serious play. I have resisted the urge to edit, to tear out overworked pictures and false starts, as each painting is valued simply for bringing me to the next image."
