Ana Maria Mejia is an artist born in 1960 in Medellin, Columbia. She studied from 1980-1985 in the Fine Arts faculty of the National University of Colombia, Medellin, receiving an  Master of Fine Arts degree, and from 1989-1991 pursued postgraduate studies in traditional Chinese painting, at the Beijing Central Institute of Fine Arts, China.
