Frances Ho is a painter born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She studied at various Vancouver institutions of learning, including at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design, Studio Fine Arts Programme, at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, at Langara College, and at the University of British Columbia, Finance and Investment Programmes.
Scope and content
The work consists of an artist's book entitled "me," 14 pages, 21.5 x 28 cm, with seven acrylic paintings on mylar accompanied by a statement by the artist.
Note
The artist stated: "Artistically speaking my work reflects on spiritual reality and human rationality. I see the natural world as disordered and simplistic perceived by the human mind. My art is shaped by direct experiences between my rational mind and my senses. This book was conceived in this spirit. It has been a three year 'work in progress', exploring gestural action painting techniques, using Mylar as the canvas."
