  8. This CD ROM is designed to run on RISC PC and Archimedes computers which
  9. have at least 4 megabytes of memory and a CD ROM drive. It will work with
  10. a 640x480 pixels 256 colour display. For better Replay quality you should
  11. switch to thousands of colours if your computer supports it. For
  12. instructions on how to install and run this program, please consult the
  13. booklet provided with this disc.

  18. The 'ACTSHTS' directory on the root of this CD ROM contains a number of
  19. activity sheets which can be used in conjunction with British Countrysides.

  23. CONDITIONS OF USE
  24.  
  25. Educational users are allowed to extract text and graphics from this disc to
  26. use in their own work so long as it is not sold for gain or used outside the
  27. purchasing school. The video clips and sound samples must NOT be extracted
  28. from this CD ROM or run from any other medium unless you have the necessary 
  29. site licence. Full details of copyright are given on the printed booklet 
  30. supplied with the disc.

  33. ONLINE SUPPORT

  35. Anglia Multimedia's online service provides extra learning materials linked
  36. to its discs. This is available on the World Wide Web at 
  37. http://www.anglia.co.uk. A more comprehensive learning service is provided
  38. by Education Anglia, to be found on AOL UK (America Online). Log on to your
  39. AOL site and use the keyword facility and the word ANGLIA for quick access.
  40. There is also a Survival site on AOL with the keyword SURVIVAL.

  43. SAVE STATUS
  44.  
  45. For details of the use of the save status and resume feature, please
  46. consult the booklet provided with this disc.

  48. By default the program saves a file named 'Resume' within the Extras
  49. Folder. (Assuming that the Extras Folder is called '!BritC+', the
  50. file resides at '!BritC+.Scripts.Status0.Resume'). This file is 
  51. automatically reloaded if the user chooses to 'Resume from Previous 
  52. Session' when re-running the disc.

  54. The Resume file and other status files located within the 
  55. '!BritC+.Scripts.Status' directory are listed in the 'Load Status' menu. 
  56. Status files from elsewhere are loaded by dragging them onto the program's 
  57. main window.

  59. In a classroom environment, it may be desirable to instruct each user to
  60. save an individually named status file before leaving the disc. They can
  61. then return to their previous session by explicitly loading their status
  62. file. Status files may be saved within the default directory on the system
  63. hard disc or to a floppy disc as described in the booklet.

  65. Status files are cross-platform. If you also have the Windows MPC version
  66. of this disc you can interchange status files between computers as follows:

  69. Acorn to Windows MPC:
  70.  
  71. 1. Run this version of the CD ROM on an Acorn RISCOS computer. 
  72.  
  73. 2. Save your status to an MSDOS format floppy disc.
  74.  
  75. 3. Run the Windows MPC version of the CDROM on your MPC.
  76.  
  77. 4. Load the status file from the DOS format floppy disc (select 
  78.    'Acorn Status File' in the 'List files of Type:' menu).
  79.  
  80. 5. The MPC should return to the same place with the same status 
  81.    as the Acorn version you were running.

  83. Windows MPC to Acorn:

  85. 1. Run the Windows version of this CD ROM on an MPC computer.
  86.  
  87. 2. Save your current status to an MSDOS format floppy disc.
  88.    
  89. 3. Remove the .KAS extension from the status file or save it as an 'Acorn
  90.    status file' (selected from the 'Save file as Type:' menu).

  92. 4. Run this CD ROM on an Acorn RISCOS computer. 
  93.    Drag the status file from the MSDOS floppy disc onto the program's 
  94.    main window.

  96. 5. The Acorn disc should return to the same place and with the same 
  97.    status as the MPC version you were running.
