  6. Product Description:
  7. --------------------
  8. ClipMate captures all text items that appear on the Clipboard and keeps
  9. them for later retrieval.  There are many functions to help you retrieve
  10. and manipulate clipboard data, such as Concatenate, Re-Flow Paragraph,
  11. Word Find, and Magnify. You can edit the clipboard data, and you have
  12. configurable options for short-term and long-term storage.   The ultimate
  13. Windows power tool, with easy-to-use Icon ribbon, and Windows Help.

  27. Installation Notes:
  28. -------------------
  29. To install ClipMate, just copy all of the
  30. Distribution Files to the directory of your
  31. choice.  It doesn't need to be in the path, and
  32. there are no funny environment variables to set.
  33. For the lack of anything better, create
  34. \windows\clipmate, and put the files there.

  36. Create an icon in the program manager with a
  37. Command Line that points to ClipMate.

  40. C:\windows\clipmate\clipmate.exe

  42. Effect on Your System:
  43. ----------------------
  44. The first time that you run ClipMate, it will
  45. create \windows\clipmate.ini.  WIN.INI is NOT 
  46. altered in any way, nor are any of your other
  47. system files.

  51. ClipMate will create and save the clipboard data
  52. into DEFAULT.CLM, or another .CLM file that you
  53. specify.

  55. System Requirements:
  56. --------------------
  57. ClipMate requires a VGA or better display (monchrome vga is ok).
  58. It will run in Real mode, but Standard is preferred, Enhanced
  59. mode is best.

  69. Known Problems:
  70. --------------
  71. Norton Desktop for Windows and Turbo Pascal for Windows have a
  72. compatibility problem.  Until the vendors hash this out, ClipMate
  73. won't run under Norton Desktop.
  74. As a temporary workaround, try disabling NDW's Launch Manager.  Several
  75. users have reported that this works, and that this is an acceptable
  76. interim solution.
  77. Symantec supposedly has a fix for this, but it will cost you a slight
  78. performance penalty.  Contact Symantec Customer Support for more
  79. information on this, and mention that you're having problems running
  80. programs that were written using Borland's Object Windows Library.

  98.   On some XGA systems, the system font was so wide that it caused the
  99.   menu to wrap, which caused some of the controls to be hidden.  The
  100.   wide font is now detected, and the window is sized accordingly.

  103.   Fixed problem with Concatenate:
  104.   Bug in Windows causes negative values to sometimes be returned for
  105.   MAXAVAIL, which checks to see if there is enough contiguous free
  106.   memory to complete the concatenation.  Negative values are now ignored.

  109.   Fixed RunTime error 204 - occurred when editing Magnification Window,
  110.   in the event that the user deletes the item that is being edited.
