  4. BOOT.SYS makes it possible to display one or more menus at boot-up time and to
  5. have different parts of CONFIG.SYS and/or AUTOEXEC.BAT executed depending on
  6. which menu option(s) are chosen.

  8. Many people need different versions of CONFIG.SYS depending on what application
  9. they are going to run. In the past you had to either rename or edit your
  10. startup files and reboot to get a different setup. Now this process has become
  11. much easier and safer by using BOOT.SYS.

  13. BOOT.SYS is distributed as shareware which means that you may try it out for
  14. free and share it with your friends and associates as long as you respect the
  15. license agreement in the accompanying documentation. If BOOT.SYS serves your
  16. needs and you keep it installed on your PC after the initial trial period then
  17. you must register. The registration fee is SFR 70.- (Swiss Franks) or US $39.

  20. This file is a self-extracting LHA archive. It extracts to the current
  21. directory by default; you can specify a target directory by adding a command
  22. line parameter like  /ec:\boot  to extract to c:\boot\*.*.
