  45.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  46.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  47.  files in a window.  After the window is
  48.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  49.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  50.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  51.  process the tagged files.

  53. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  54.  This option will allow you to add or
  55.  update the compressed file comments.
  56.  
  57. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  58.  This option will delete all files that
  59.  are contained in the compressed file
  60.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  61.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  63. *alte  !!extract list!!
  64.  This option allow you to specify which
  65.  files to extract from the compressed
  66.  file. You may specify more the one
  67.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  68.  cards are allowed.
  69.  
  70. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  71.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  72.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  73.  of files in a window.  After the window
  74.  is displayed you tag the files to
  75.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  76.  After all files have been tagged press
  77.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  78.  files.
  79.  
  80. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  81.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  82.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  83.  of files in a window.  After the window
  84.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  85.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  86.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  87.  key to process the tagged files.
  88.  
  89. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  90.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  91.  files from the compressed file into the
  92.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  93.  via the ALT-P command.
  94.  
  95. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  96.  This options allows you to specify a
  97.  disk and directory of where any
  98.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  99.  the extract path as follows:
  100.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  101.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  102.  extract path. To display a directory
  103.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  104.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  105.  enter key.
  106.  
  107. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  108.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  109.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  110.  the window pops up enter the first
  111.  character of the file you wish to find.
  112.  The display will be repositioned to the
  113.  first file in the list that starts with
  114.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  115.  stored in random order sort the list
  116.  first)
  117.  
  118. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  119.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  120.  the tagged file display line at the
  121.  bottom of the screen.
  122.  
  123. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  124.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  125.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  126.  of files in a window.  After the window
  127.  is displayed you tag the files to
  128.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  129.  After all files have been tagged press
  130.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  131.  files.
  132.  
  133. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  134.  This option will display the master
  135.  comment record and the file comment
  136.  records for the selected compressed
  137.  file.
  138.  
  139. *altx  !!extract all!!
  140.  This option will extract ALL files from
  141.  the compressed file into the current
  142.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  143.  the ALT-P command.
  144.  
  145. *altz  !!virus check!!
  146.  This option will check ALL .COM ,.EXE, .OVL
  147.  files to see if they have been infected with
  148.  a virus.  You must have the virus checking
  149.  program from McAfee Assoc. call SCAN.EXE
  150.  version 39 or greater, and have used the
  151.  configuration program to tell SHEZ where
  152.  to find SCAN.EXE
  153.  
  154. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  155.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  156.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  157.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  158.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  159.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  160.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  161.  compressed file contents screen.
  162.  
  163. *c  !!create-new!!
  164.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  165.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  166.  to enter the
  167.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  168.  compressed file to create, whether you
  169.  want to add or move files into the new
  170.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  171.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  172.  new compressed file.
  173.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  174.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  175.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  176.  PAK files!!!!!
  177.  
  178.  You will also be asked if you want to
  179.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  180.  the entered file spec as is.
  181.  
  182.  If the compression program you choose
  183.  supports saving path information you will
  184.  also be asked if you want to save
  185.  directory information, and if you want to
  186.  recurse the directory tree.

  189. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  190.  This option will delete all tagged files
  191.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  192.  asked to verify the delete before the
  193.  files are actually deleted from the
  194.  compressed file.

  197.  This option will extract all tagged
  198.  files from the compressed file.
  199.  
  200. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  201.  This option will activate the alternate
  202.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  203.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  204.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  205.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.

  207. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  208.  This option will set the compressed
  209.  file's time and date to the time and
  210.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  211.  the compressed file.
  212.  
  213. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  214.  This option will untag all currently
  215.  tagged files.
  216.  
  217. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  218.  This option will tag all files in the
  219.  currently displayed window.
  220.  
  221. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  222.  This option will convert a self
  223.  extracting file back to its native
  224.  compressed file format. The self
  225.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  226.  The normal compressed file will be
  227.  built on the same drive and directory
  228.  where self extracting file is found.
  229.  
  230. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  231.  This option allows you to copy all
  232.  tagged files from the current compressed
  233.  file into another compressed file.  The
  234.  target compressed file may be any
  235.  currently supported format.
  236.  
  237. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  238.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  239.  drop you off into disk and directory
  240.  that is specified as the extract
  241.  location.
  242.  
  243. *d  !!delete one file!!
  244.  This option will delete the currently
  245.  highlighted file from the compressed
  246.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  247.  delete before the delete is actually
  248.  done.
  249.  
  250. *e  !!extract one file!!
  251.  This option will extract the currently
  252.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  253.  drive and directory, or the
  254.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  255.  the ALT-P command.

  257. *f      !!freshen!!
  258.  Using this option you can specify the
  259.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  260.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  261.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  262.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  263.  extensions.

  265. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  266.  This option will temporarily exit to
  267.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  268.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  269.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  270.  the return key.

  272. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  273.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  274.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  275.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  276.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  277.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  278.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  279.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  280.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.

  282.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  283.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  284.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  285.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  286.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  287.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.

  290.  This option will allow you to edit a
  291.  file in the compressed file.  This
  292.  option will only work if you specified
  293.  an editor to use when you configured
  294.  compressedPER.

  297.  Using this option you can specify how
  298.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  299.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  300.  Extension, or Date.

  302. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  303.  This option will allow you to set the
  304.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  305.  programs.  When you set the compression
  306.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  307.  change it again.

  456.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  457.  extract a file from the compressed file.

  460.  This option allows you to specify if you
  461.  want to save and/or use path information
  462.  when working with compressed files.
  463.  
  464. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  465.  This option will immediately exit
  466.  SHEZ.
  467.  
  468. *r  !!run a file!!
  469.  This option will extract and run the
  470.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  471.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  472.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  473.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  474.  deleted.
  475.  
  476. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  477.  This option allows you to add and or
  478.  update the comment records associated
  479.  with the currently highlighted file.
  480.  
  481. *sft-s  !!add/update file comments!!
  482.  This option allows you to add and or
  483.  update the comment records assocaited
  484.  with each file in the compressed file.
  485.  
  486. *t  !!test compressed!!
  487.  This option will test the integrity of
  488.  the compressed file.

  490. *u       !!update!!
  491.  Using this option you can specify the
  492.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  493.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  494.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  495.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  496.  extensions.

  498. *v  !!view!!
  499.  This option will allow you to view the
  500.  contents of a file in the compressed
  501.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  502.  to view the file.
  503.  
  504. *z  !!mask!!
  505.  This option allows you to specify a file
  506.  mask to be used when displaying the
  507.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  508.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  509.  only the files having an extension of C
  510.  will be displayed on the screen.
  511.  
  512. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  513.  This option will invoke the editor that
  514.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  515.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  516.  the editor.
  517.  
  518. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  519.  This option will delete all files that
  520.  have been tagged in the file window.
  521.  After all the files are deleted the file
  522.  window will be refreshed.
  523.  
  524. *mf3  !!view file!!
  525.  This option allows you to view the
  526.  highlighted file.
  527.  
  528. *mf4  !!delete file/dir!!
  529.  This option allows you to delete the
  530.  highlighted file/dir.  You will be
  531.  prompted to verify the delete.

  533. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  534.  This option will display the highlighted
  535.  file's time,date,and size.
  536.  
  537. *mf6  !!toggle $.$ *.*!!
  538.  This option will toggle the DOS files to
  539.  display between the $.$ specification
  540.  and the *.* specification.

  542. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  543.  This option will sort the file list by
  544.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  545.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  546.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.
  547.  
  548. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  549.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  550.  the highlighted file.
  551.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  552.  from all tagged files.
  553.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  554.  currently supported)

  556. *altb  !!browse a file!!
  557.  This option allows you to enter the name
  558.  of a file you wish to view.  The
  559.  user specified Browse program, that was
  560.  set during configuration, will be
  561.  use to Browse the specified file.
  562.  
  563. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  564.  This option allows you to add and or update
  565.  file comment records in all tagged
  566.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  567.  data file that contains the comment
  568.  record(s) you wish to add.
  569.  
  570. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  571.  This option will convert the highlighted
  572.  archive file from one format archive to
  573.  another format archive. You will be
  574.  asked if you want to delete the original
  575.  archive file after the conversion is
  576.  complete.

  578. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  579.  This option will convert all tagged
  580.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  581.  to another format archive. You will be
  582.  asked if you want to delete the original
  583.  archive file(s) after the conversion is
  584.  complete.

  586. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  587.  This option will reread the current
  588.  directory and refresh the displayed file
  589.  list.
  590.  
  591. *malt-w  !!write cfg file!!
  592.  This option will write the current SHEZ
  593.  configuration options out to a file
  594.  named SHEZ.CFG.  The file will be written
  595.  to the current disk:\directory.  This file
  596.  will be used by the SHEZCFG program to set
  597.  the default SHEZ program options when you
  598.  configure SHEZ.
  599.  
  600. *malt-z  !!virus check!!

  602.  files in all tagged compressed files,

  622.  This option allows you to move the
  623.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  624.  to enter file destination information.
  625.  The highlighted file will be copied to
  626.  the entered destination and then deleted
  627.  from the current location.

  629. *mctl-f6  !!rename file!!
  630.  This option allows you to rename the
  631.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  632.  to enter new filename information.
  633.  You must at least enter a filename and
  634.  extension in the TO: field.

  636. *msfx !!copy,move,delete,rename tagged files!!
  637.  This option will copy,move,delete, or
  638.  rename all files that have been tagged in
  639.  the file window. After all the files are
  640.  operated on, the file window will be
  641.  refreshed.

  644.  This option will print the currently
  645.  highlighted file.  If you are working
  646.  with an ARC,ZOO,LZH or PAK file output
  647.  will always go to the DOS PRN device.

  649. *nomatch  !!no matching file found!!
  650.  No matching files where found in the directory that is displayed
  651.  in the information window.  Pressing ESC will exit SHEZ, pressing
  652.  F2 will allow you to create a compressed file, and pressing
  653.  F3 allows you to specify a new DISK:\DIRECTORY to look at.

  655. *macs  !!Macro help file!!
  656.  All keyboard macro functions must be initiated from
  657.  the keyboard.  Hot KEYS are as follows:
  658.  CTRL-R   Start/Stop recording.
  659.           (When recording speaker will sound as each
  660.            key is pressed)
  661.  CTRL-A   Immediately play recorded keys.
  662.  CTRL-L   Load and run a recorded key macro.
