WHAT'S NEW?
-----------
04/19/92
REVISED COM ROUTINES
--------------------
RomBrain will now support ports locked up to 115,200 baud.
REVISED CDROM STATUS
--------------------
RomBrain now displays the active CDROM. Be sure to use the new
RBRAIN.SCR file to replace your old one.
DOWNLOAD LOG
------------
A log of downloads is written to MAIN\CALLERx for GAP and REPORT.LOG
for non-GAP BBSes.
OFFLINE FILE REQUESTS
---------------------
If you have more than one CD, and have set up a DRIVE.DAT file,
your callers can now request files from other CDs. The names of the
files will be added to the REQUEST.DAT used by the REQUEST BRAIN
door available from BRAINEX. The REQUEST BRAIN door will automatically
prompt you to insert the correct CD. User's requests are then copied from
the CD to a private user directory. User's may then access the REQUEST BRAIN
to download files when they like.

ZIP COMMENTS!
-------------
If you use a work drive to copy files from CDROM to HARD DISK, and want
to add ZIP comments to the file, just place your comments in a file
named COMMENT. Put this file in your ROMBRAIN directory, and zip comments
will be added for you!

NEW DRIVE.DAT STRUCTURE
-----------------------
MULTIPLE DRIVE SUPPORT
======================
If you use more than one cd drive, you can now include a DRIVE.DAT file
in your RomBrain directory. It will allow your callers to switch drives
while using RomBrain. Here is a sample DRIVE.DAT file:
CARRS Night Owl Volume #4,A,E:,C:\GAP\ROMBRAIN\PDSI_004,50
CARRS Night Owl Volume #5,A,F:,C:\GAP\ROMBRAIN\PDSI_005,50
STORM-1 ADULTS ONLY!,A,F:,D:\STORM,99
Each field of data must be separated by a comma. The data format is:
CD VOLUME NAME,CDTYPE,CD DRIVE LETTER,PATH TO CDTYPE FILES,ACCESS LEVEL
*NEW*
ACCESS LEVEL is the LEVEL and above of a user allowed to access the CD.
It's now added at the end of each line in DRIVE.DAT. If you do not place
a number there, you will get an ERROR 62, end of file error!
Be sure to put your default drive information on the first line. This is
the CD specified by SETUP when you first installed RomBrain. If the
above format is not followed errors will result!
See ROMBRAIN.DOC for more information.

UPGRADE FROM OLDER VERSION
--------------------------
A new setup and compile program are included in this version of RomBrain.
Make a note of your REGISTRATION NUMBER before you do anything!
Next, you will need to run SETUP to create a new RBRAIN.CNF file (replaces
CDBRAIN.CNF). You do NOT need to compile a new FILEBASE. Just be sure
that the path to your existing CDTYPE files is correct in the setup.
============================================================================
WORKING DIRECTORY
=================
When a transfer begins, the selected files will be copied to this directory.
The download will then be from the hard disk, instead of the CDROM. Very
useful for CDROM Changers and Networks! If you have limited disk space,
put NONE here.
DIRECTORY MENU
==============
If you have more than 30 directories on your CD, a page of 30 directories
will be shown. The user can hit [N]ext for next page, then [P]revious
for previous page.
You can make your own custom menus:
START -> Start Menu (ASCII)
STARTG -> Start (ANSI)
MENU -> Directory Menu (ASCII)
MENUG -> Directory Menu (ANSI)
You need an ASCII menu file on the disk to use an ANSI menu file.
PROMPT FOR ZIPPING
==================
When transferring a non-zipped file from an archive, the user will
be prompted to "ZIP File?" If answer is yes, file will be zipped,
then the download will proceed.
VERSION TYPES
=============
RomBrain will no longer list a version number. It's easier to go by
the date of the .exe file. RomBrain is constatntly being improved,
so just check Brainex BBS for the latest dated file. The date of your
version is shown after the program is exited.
USE ROMBRAIN AS A FILE COPY UTILITY (Registered Version)
===================================
When you use Rombrain in LOCAL mode, you can use the download function
to transfer files from your CDROM to the directory of your choice.
You will be prompted for a destination directory. If you do not want
copy files from your CDROM, just hit ENTER to bypass this feature when
asked for the path.
