  3. The program is designed for reading, processing and storing the received mail,
  4. and also for sending your letters, replies, binary files, etc. by 
  5. UUCP-g protocol (modem or TCP/IP), SMTP, POP3, NNTP news reading in the
  6. Internet electronic mail systems (Relcom).

  8.                           System Requirements:
  9.  
  10. - IBM/PC AT 386/SX (or compatible) or more powerfull;
  11. - RAM: 2 Megabytes or more;
  12. - available space on Hard Drive - 10+ Megabytes;
  13. - Microsoft Windows v 3.1 or higher, running in 386 ENHANCED MODE;
  14. - Mouse.

  16.                           Installation:

  18.         To install this program on your computer:
  19. a) create a directory on hard drive;
  20. b) copy program files to this directory or unpack archive with
  21.     compressed files to this directory;
  22. c) run program INSTALL.EXE from MS-Windows shell and answer the questions;
  23. d) pay special attention on setting Flow Control for COM-port to Hardware
  24.    or None (to do this open [Control Panel] -> [Ports] icon,
  25.    then select your COM port number, set Flow Control to Hardware/None).
  26. e) if you are going to use protocols working over TCP/IP (UUCP-g, SMTP, 
  27.    POP3,NNTP), you must add the call of WINPKT.COM program from this package to
  28.    AUTOEXEC.BAT file after the network adapter driver loading. Here comes the 
  29.    example for Novell NetWare:

  38.    When you restart WINDOWS Trumpet Winsock program will ask you about the
  39.    following information:
  40.    - IP address - IP address of your machine;
  41.    - Netmask - network mask of your subnet;
  42.    - Default Gateway - IP address of the default router;
  43.    - Name server - IP address of the Network Domain Server;
  44.    - Packet vector - hexadecimal value of WINPKT.COM driver vector number.

  46. f) if you won't use the protocols working over TCP/IP, you should remove the 
  47.    Trumpet Winsock icon from WINDOWS STARTUP.GRP group.
