  1. ORDERING INFORMATION FOR THE ATAMAN RLOGIND SERVICE.

  3. There are two licensing options available:
  4.      Per Copy and Site Licensing.
  5.  
  6. Educational institutions receive a 25% discount.
  7.  
  8. The Per Copy Licensing option gives the purchaser a license to use the
  9. software on a single computer system.  The purchaser can freely transfer
  10. the license to another computer system (by removing it from the first
  11. system and installing it on another), but the license is for one architecture
  12. type only. (In other words a license for the Intel version can not be
  13. transformed into a DEC AXP version.) Below quantity means the number being
  14. purchased  for a single architecture at that time... purchase are NOT
  15. cumulative.

  22. The Site Licensing Plan bases the cost on size of the user base at a site.
  23. The user base is defined as the number of potential users of the product at
  24. a site. Purchasers have great freedom in determining what constitutes a site,
  25. but must meet the follow three criterion:
  26.  
  27. 1.   The site must be defined at the time of purchase.
  28. 2.   Constitute a reasonable effort estimate of the size of the site
  29.      within the next year.
  30. 3.   The entire site must be under the control of one legal entity.
  31.  
  32. Updates for the Site Licensing plan are provided automatically every time
  33. an update is released (diskettes will be mailed to a central contact).
  34. Site licensee are expect to provide some form a centralized support for
  35. the product. (At least to the level of installation and instruction of
  36. novice users.) Generally a formal policy need not be defined, but
  37. Ataman Software reserves the right to limit technical support questions
  38. from a site licensee to a list of not more than 10 individuals. This policy
  39. would only be invoked if the number of technical support requests from a
  40. site became relatively large.

  42. Size of User Base.   Cost for the first year.
  43. 1-299                $1,500 plus $10 per potential user beyond 100.
  44. 300+                 $3,500 plus $5 per potential user beyond 300.
  45.  
  46. For each year afterward, the license will then cost 30% of the then
  47. current license fee. The definition of a siteÆs user base may be
  48. adjusted each year. In any year that the size of the site increases,
  49. full price must be paid for those additional users.
  50.  
  51. Site licensees can install as many copies of the product they like on any
  52. of their computer systems, but only those users defined in the user base
  53. may use the product.
  54.  
  55. Site licensees receive a copy of the software for all architectures
  56. supported by the Ataman Rlogind Service.
  57.  
  58. For truly huge sites we are willing to negotiate further site licensing
  59. plans on a case by case basis.

  96. want one diskette for each architecture for which you have purchased a
  97. license. For U.S. customers the charge is $4.95 per diskette. For customers
  98. outside the U.S. the charge is $4.95 per diskette + $10 to cover the extra
  99. shipping.

  148. Example:
  149.      The site for this order is defined as the MIS department at the
  150.      Salt Lake City location of the X Corporation.

  152. A best effort estimate of the potential users at the site in the next year.
  153. Example:
  154.      We estimate that this year we will have 135 users using your
  155.      Ataman Rlogind Service product.

  157. This number is then used to calculate the cost:
  158. Example:
  159.      135 translates to a based cost of $1,500 + 35*$10 = $1,850.
  160.      As the X Corporation is located in the state of Utah, they
  161.      need to add 6.25% sales tax.
