  4. STEREO F/X and Sound Blaster Virtual Device Conflicts

  7. Virtual Device Conflict

  10. If you have had a Sound Blaster installed previous to installing STEREO F/X
  11. you will have a virtual device conflict. This is because the Sound Blaster
  12. driver leaves it's virtual devices installed even when you remove the Sound
  13. Blaster driver.

  15. To fix this problem you must edit your system.ini file. Find the [386Enh]
  16. section of the system.ini file. There you will find two lines:

  18.     device=vsbd.386
  19.     device=vadlib.386
  20.  
  21. If you remove these two lines from your system.ini file everything should
  22. then work normally.

  25. Using MIDI in
  26. -------------
  27.  
  28. If you want to use MIDI input with a Windows program such as "Music Time" you
  29. MUST run Windows in standard mode using the "WIN /S" command. MIDI input
  30. will NOT work in 386 Enhanced mode unless you have a VERY fast computer. To
  31. be safe always run Windows 3.1 in standard mode when using MIDI input.
