  18. After you install U.S. Service Pack 2 for Windows NT and Windows NT
  19. Advanced Server, trying to print from a Macintosh client causes this error
  20. message to appear:

  22.    <application_name> is unable to print this document.
  23.    Make sure you've selected a printer.
  24.  
  25. This happens only if you have set up a user account for the Print Server
  26. for Macintosh as described on page 64 of the Windows NT Advanced Server
  27. "Services for Macintosh" (SFM) manual.
  28.  
  29. WORKAROUND
  30. ==========

  32. To work around this problem, use the Services section of Control Panel to
  33. set the Print Server for Macintosh to log on as the System Account.
  34.  
  35. NOTE: You are unable to set print permissions for Macintosh clients when
  36. the Print Server for Macintosh is logged on as the System Account.

  38. STATUS

  41. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
  42. Advanced Server version 3.1. A fix to this problem is in development, but
  43. has not been regression-tested and may be destabilizing in production
  44. environments. Microsoft does not recommend implementing this fix at this
  45. time. Contact Microsoft Product Support Services for more information on
  46. the availability of this fix.
