- SYMPTOMS

- When you share a CD-ROM drive and connect to it from a Windows for
- Workgroups client and you run the DIR * command from a subdirectory of the
- CD-ROM, the directory listing does not include the double dot (..) entry
- that represents the parent directory.

- This behavior does not affect functionality, but when you use this command
- in LAN Manager, MS-DOS, or Windows for Workgroups, the directory listing
- does include the entry for the parent directory.

- Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
- Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post
- new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
- available.
