  18. After a process makes several connections to another server, the following
  19. error message appears in the event log:

  21.    The redirector was unable to create a worker thread
  22.  
  23. CAUSE
  24. =====
  25.  
  26. An operation required more threads than the MAXTHREADS entry specified in
  27. your configuration information.
  28.  
  29. RESOLUTION
  30. ==========

  32. Increase the value of MAXTHREADS. It can be found under the following key
  33. in the Registry:
  34.  
  35.    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
  36.    \Services\Lanmanworkstation\parameters
  37.  
  38. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide
  39. problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them.
  40. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of
  41. Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.
