-
- - Microsoft U.S. Service Pack 2 for Windows NT
- and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- SYMPTOMS
- ========
-
- After installing U.S. Service Pack 2, Backup no longer creates a BACKUP.LOG
- file in the expected directory when started from the command line. Instead
- of storing BACKUP.LOG in the directory you specify, Backup stores it in the
- \WINNT (or system root directory). It also only creates a file of two bytes
- in length.
-
- CAUSE
- =====
-
- This is a problem that occurred after converting Backup to recognize
- Unicode.
-
- STATUS
- ======
-
- Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
- Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post
- new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
- available.
