- Windows NT can be configured to print directly to a specified file without

-
- To add the value, use the following procedure:
-
- WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide
- problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them.
- Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of
- Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.
-
- 1. Start Registry Editor and locate the following Registry subkey:
-
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
- \Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports
-
- 2. From the Edit menu, choose Add Value. In the Value Name field type the
- full path and filename you would like to print to (c:\print2.fil for
- example). Select REG_SZ for the data type. Leave the String field Blank.
-
- 3. Save your changes and exit Registry Editor.
-
- 4. Exit Windows NT and restart your computer.
-
- 5. Start Print Manager and select the correct printer.
-
- 6. Choose Properties from the Printer menu.
-
- 7. From Print To, select the filename you specified in Step 2.
