  18. When multiple users who use mandatory profiles log on to a single computer,
  19. a message may appear saying that the user profile cannot be loaded and
  20. access is denied.

  22. CAUSE
  23. =====
  24.  
  25. A mandatory profile is copied to a temporary file on the local computer
  26. when it is loading. When another user logs on, the temporary file is copied
  27. over. The above message appears when certain Windows NT components hold
  28. open incorrect registry handles after a user logs off. This causes the
  29. temporary file to be held open by the Windows NT Executive. If another user
  30. tries to log on, Windows NT tries to copy the mandatory profile over the
  31. temporary file, but cannot copy it because the file is being used by the
  32. Windows NT Executive.

  37. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
  38. Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S.
  39. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server. For information
