-
- - Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1

-
- SUMMARY
- =======
-
- After you disconnect users in the Control Panel Server option, they may
- appear to still be connected in the Shared Resources dialog box.
-
- CAUSE
- =====
-
- Some types of applications (such as File Manager) automatically reconnect a
- share after you drop the session from the server system.
-
- RESOLUTION
- ==========
-
- This functionality was designed into Windows NT as a feature.
-
- If you want to keep all sessions dropped from a server (such as to close
- files and back them up), first Pause the Server service. You can do this
- with the Control Panel Server option. After the server is paused, go into
- the Server option and disconnect the sessions. When the application
- attempts to automatically reconnect, it will be refused until the server is
- no longer paused.
