- TITLE :Custom Forms Not Available in Print Manager
- PRODUCT :Windows NT
- PROD/VER:3.10
- OPER/SYS:WINDOWS
- KEYWORDS:buglist3.10
-
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The information in this article applies to:
-
- - Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
- - Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- SYMPTOMS
- ========
-
- A custom form created by a user may not be listed in the list of available
- forms when the user attempts to assign the form to a source.
-
- CAUSE
- =====
-
- One possible cause is that if the newly created form has margins defined
- greater than what the printer driver has defined, the newly created form
- will not show up. This is true even if the printer is capable of handling
- the margins you specify.
-
- STATUS
- ======
-
- Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
- Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post
- new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
- available.

- Steps to Reproduce Problem
- --------------------------
-
- 1. In Print Manager, create a printer.
-
- 2. Select the Forms menu option.
-
- 3. Define a custom form using a paper size that the printer is physically
- capable of printing, but is larger than 8.5-by-11 inches.
-
- 4. From the Printer menu, choose Properties and then choose Setup. Attempt
- to assign the newly created form to a source.
-
- At this point, the form may not show up in the list of available forms.
